Gordana Kovačević – “The Manager of the Decade”, “The Business Woman of the Year” and Ericsson Nikola Tesla – “The Company of the Decade”

The 28th awards granting ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere on Thursday, July 4, in Sarajevo, Bosnia&Herzegovina. The recognitions were granted to the best managers and public figures in the region South Eastern and Central Europe. The prize awarding ceremony attended several hundred most successful mangers from a dozen of countries and a large number of economic, political and public figures coming from the region.

 

These awards that have been granted since 1994 mean an extremely high and internationally verified recognition by the best managers in the region, European association of managers and the magazine Euromanager. The professional assessment body consisted of well known and reputable businessmen, scientists and public figures from the whole region. So far, the award was granted to prominent businessmen and companies from the region. Thus, in 2011 “The Manager of the year” was Gordana Kovačević and “The company of the year” was Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

 

This year, the jury decided to grant awards “The Manager of the Decade” and “Business woman of the year” to Gordana Kovačević MSc, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla for exceptional merits in a decade of continuous growth and development of the company, and for the implementation of the state-of the-art technologies, which made her the undisputable leader in the industry. This made her the most awarded person in this year competition. The award “The Company of the Decade” was granted to Ericsson Nikola Tesla for the continuous development, exceptional business results and the quality of performance and services.

 

When receiving these high recognitions awarded both to herself and the company, Gordana Kovačević MSc addressed the audience and underlined the following: “I perceive these awards as a true recognition to all who have participated in our results so far. A long-term dedicated work, very good and innovative experts, successful team leading, implementation of the most complex ICT  projects brought ETK to the highest results in Croatian, countries of the region as well as on numerous other markets and in the global environment. For more than six decades we have established a successful collaboration with customers and partners on the market of the whole region, and we are especially proud of it. Our common goal is to create, actively and through partnership preconditions for the networked society of the future, in which ICT will enable a synergy of positive impact to business performance, people's life and environment. Therefore I am especially happy and proud that our efforts, knowledge and engagement have been especially evaluated. Thus, we have strengthened our distinctiveness in the region and high reputation. Thank you all who contributed on this path to excellence. I must confess that this is a strong encouragement to me personally, and to all our employees. This will encourage us to continue on our never ending path to excellence and innovativeness”.

 

The news that at the beginning of July, the European Association of Managers and the magazine “Euro Manager”, awarded Gordana Kovačević, MSc, Ericsson Nikola Tesla President, the prestigious recognition for the “The Best Manager of the Decade“ and “The Business Woman of the Year“ for South-eastern and Central Europe, and chose Ericsson Nikola Tesla “The Company of the Decade”, was positively accepted by the public and Ericsson Corporation, as well.
These days, the congratulations are coming from all over the globe, and among them are the words of congratulations from Hans Vestberg, Ericsson President and CEO. He received this news with great pleasure, and in his greetings addressed to Gordana Kovačević and Ericsson Nikola Tesla employees, he highlighted that he himself was very proud and believed that the recognitions had been deserved and came in the right hands.
