Ericsson Nikola Tesla engaged in Modernization of BH Telecom Core Network

MSc Nedžad Rešidbegović, the director general of BH Telecom, the leading operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and MSc Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the leading regional provider of telecom solutions, signed in Sarajevo the contract on modernization of a part of BH Telecom core network. The contract value amounts to MHRK 20.

The given contract covers the upgrade and capacity extension of the current MSS switching subsystem. The realization of this project will create the basis for advancement of the existing and implementation of new communications service, which will also mean the higher level of the network reliability.

In line with global telecom trends, the contract covers the latest version of Ericsson IP Multimedia system that will enable BH Telecom to offer new multimedia services as well as the further development towards IP-fication and convergence.

After signing the contract Mr Nedžad Rešidbegović said: “Each operator wishing to achieve the further development must develop its own core network, since among other things, it is a prerequisite for the supply of new attractive services. This state-of-the-art solution will offer the new possibilities to our users”.

Ms Gordana Kovačević commented this new contract and said: “I am very glad that our long-time collaboration with BH Telecom continued. The core network is a backbone of any network infrastructure, so its continuous modernization is inevitable. The activities on the delivery of the current solution and provisioning of its functionalities to the full extent, will be launched immediately“.
