eRecord and Central Hospital Ordering System Presented at Oracle Day 2014

At Oracle Day conference, Darko Gvozdanović, expert from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, presented the near future in the national health care system, i.e. eRecord, and primarius Dr. Elvira Čeljuska Tošev, the head of the Department for Medical Documentation at the Clinic for infectious diseases  “Dr. Fran Mihaljević”, Zagreb, presented her experience with the hospital ordering system.

Darko Gvozdanović presented eRecordOracle Day conference was held on April 1, at Hypo center in Zagreb. The conference was opened by Marin Tadić, general manager Oracle Croatia. He highlighted the current technological trends, such as globalization, and ever growing data quantities, increasing mobility and social networks business aspects. The topics of the conference covered convergent technologies, such as cloud computing, mobile and social networks, big data and internet items and the way this convergence crated new digital economy. The audience was presented experiences from companies that successfully simplified own IT environments and transformed   the business performance to meet the new challenges.

However, along with application in ones’ own business environment, ICT can be used to benefit all residents and a society as a whole. This was also presented by Darko Gvozdanović, expert from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, presented the near future in the national health care system, Central electronic medical records –eRecord, and primaries Elvira Čeljuska Tošev, the head of the head of the Department for Medical Documentation at the Clinic for infectious diseases  “Dr. Fran Mihaljević”, who presented her experience with the hospital ordering system.

eReferral will be an important step forward in improvement of the national health care system, and will additional enhance the already reached high level of informatization in Croatia . Concerning the experiences with ordering system in hospitals, primarius   Dr. Tošev illustrated that end users are very satisfied with the system,  although they accepted it with skepticism. Now , it proved to be an excellent tool that speeds up  activities in the health care  system , which offers a range of  benefits , from simplicity, speed and accuracy of data entry to the structured data analysis. Additional benefit comes from the fact that a primary care doctor can see a specialist medical report. This is a real ease for patients, who do not need to carry medical documentation on them. On the other hand it enables efficient work and cost optimization in the health care system.
