FESB celebrates 54th birthday

Last week saw a five-day event Days of FESB at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split (FESB) in which the Faculty celebrated its 54th anniversary. Numerous activities and events aimed at the interested public and especially at former, present and future Faculty students took place throughout the week. The main ceremony at FESB hosted many guests from the academic, business and the public world from Split, other parts of Croatia and the neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was an excellent occasion to take a look back and to summarize the results achieved in the past year and to award the deserving individuals, organizations and companies.


The laureates included meritorious students, student associations, doctoral and post-doctoral students, secondary schools, companies and retired staff.

Ericsson Nikola Tesla was awarded due to the fact that last year alone it employed as many as 49 Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computing who were awarded their titles at FESB, and the hiring process continues also this year.  Moreover, Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Summer Camp was
highlighted as an excellent project in which students are given an opportunity to gain experience while still studying through their engagement in concrete research & development projects with the supervision of their mentors.  Dean Marušić took the award on behalf of the Company.

During the workshop “Science, Innovation and the Economy”, Dean Marušić, the representative of the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla also gave a notable presentation on the long-term scientific, research & development and educational cooperation between Ericsson Nikola Tesla and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split to the audience of esteemed scientists, business people and the City and County representatives.
