Gordana Kovačević – the most powerful woman in Croatian business

Business weekly Lider, together with Bisnode, for the eleventh consecutive year, made a list of the 300 most powerful women in Croatian business. This year, the most powerful woman in Croatian business is President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Gordana Kovačević, who was in the last ten years also in the TOP 10 of the Lider’s list.

The award was given during a “Women in Business” conference, which was held this year under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović; partner country was Sweden. In the presence of numerous distinguish guests, among which were Minister of Social Security in the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, Annika Strandhall and Swedish Ambassador in the Republic of Croatia, Lars Schmidt. Main topics of the Conference were gender equality, proportion of women on leadership positions and their experiences and view of the business.

The Swedish Minister of Social Security, Annika Strandhall, spoke about the practice in Sweden, emphasizing the feminist orientation of its Government, and positive experience of her country when it comes to gender equality. This equality is in the core of their national and international activities, and after decades of hard work, positive changes in society are visible.

Gordana Kovačević expressed her gratitude on behalf of all awarded women and added: ”I congratulate all successful businesswomen, who can, in this demanding surroundings, cope with extremely difficult challenges. I wish you a lot of success, to enjoy your work, to be brave and never give up good ideas, because this is the only way you can fulfill your wishes, and turn your dreams into reality.”

On the list of the ten most powerful women, after the first-placed Gordana Kovačević, are: Ana Stojić Deban, Iva Balent, Anita Letica, Mladenka Grčić, Tea Martinčić, Lada Tedeschi Fiorio, Vedrana Jelušić Kašić, Malin Elisabeth Holmberg and Gordana Deranja. Managerial power of the complete list of 300 most powerful women in Croatian business is HRK 33.7 billion.
