The Red Cross and Ericsson Nikola Tesla Help Children's Hospital Srebrnjak

  Categories: Events

Along with the pleasant, newly decorated space at the third department, young patients at the Children's Hospital Srebrnjak received today a donation of didactic toys and tablets. The donation was made to the manager of the hospital Boro Nogalo, PhD, by the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla company Gordana Kovačević, MSc. This has been a part of the activity, which started during this year’s event under the name Hrvatska volontira (Croatia Volunteers), within the framework of a project named Bolnica Bezbolnica (Hospital Without Pain), which is a part of an international project called Smiling Hospital. Since 2011, Bolnica Bezbolnica project has been organized by the Croatian Red Cross. Today, representatives of the Croatian Red Cross donated picture books and other books to the hospital, and Robert Markt, the Executive President of the Croatian Red Cross, handed the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla letters of gratitude for the participation of the employees and the entire company in the project.

The President of the Company handed in the toys and tablets, which will further facilitate and improve the time our young patients have to spend in the hospital. For many years, the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla has fostered corporate social responsibility and actively supported the volunteer work of the Company’s employees. She pointed out that, even when the competition on the market is ongoing and strong, and when it is important to maintain profitable business, it is nevertheless important to show kindness and recognize good projects that need to be supported.

The manager of the hospital Srebrnjak expressed his thanks for the donation and the voluntary work done for the redecoration of the hospital space. He also pointed out that he was pleased that the Company, which is actively involved in the digital transformation of Croatian healthcare, decided to help this very hospital. Owing to the creative approach and a great number of new projects, it has become the first hospital in Croatia to be given the title BOLNICA PRIJATELJ DJECE (Children-Friendly Hospital).

Robert Markt handed the letters of gratitude to the Company and its employees: Zoran Livaić, Petra Jugovac, Marija Zovko Kordić, Martina Silov, Goran Mesarov, Vedran Ciganović, Bruno Ridzak and Anamarija Jandrašek. He has also noted the long-lasting collaboration between the Croatian Red Cross and Ericsson Nikola Tesla. Ever since the disastrous floods in 2014, they have worked on joint projects regarding children and those who need help the most.

Let us recall that, along the activities regarding the Children’s Hospital Srebrnjak, experienced teachers and lecturers from Ericsson Nikola Tesla volunteered to hold several interesting workshops under the name “The Networked Society and Us” for all the students in the first grade of the IX th Grammar School. The employees of the company have as well participated in the activity of cleaning and decorating the schoolyard of this grammar school, located in our neighborhood.
