Leading European Telecom Operators Visit Ericsson Nikola Tesla

Leading telecommunications providers in Europe brought together in ETIS, visited Ericsson Nikola Tesla company on October 14, in the framework of their two-day annual conference with 160 participants - which is the largest number of participants on such conference so far.

It was a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge from ICT sector and get acquainted with the latest trends in telecommunications. Due to the fact that this year’s ETIS conference was focused on the digital transformation of companies, which is an inevitable topic in all modern-day industries – especially in telecommunications industry – the visit to the company was related to the concerned topic.

The hosts presented the concept of the Networked Society, as well as technologies that will be used on the road towards the future, when connectivity will bring an added value to the lives of individuals and society at large. Main topics were namely the fifth generation of mobile communications (5G), Internet of Things (IoT), as well as the role of analytics in digital transformation.

The operators also visited the Technology Road in Ericsson Nikola Tesla, where experts from the company presented them just a few of the areas where the company operates, which were created or improved by innovativeness of the company’s employees.

IoT solutions for emergency situations and predictive analytics for incident management, as well as Joint Information System of Land Registry and Cadastre (JIS), which were developed by the company's devoted experts, are among such examples. eCall, a Pan-European project in which Ericsson Nikola Tesla was a partner and actively participated in the creation of such service, was also presented. It is predicted that eCall will directly save more than 2500 lives of those involved in traffic accidents per year.
The guests also visited the company's Remote service delivery center, which offers one of the globally most advanced telecom environments for testing telecom functionalities.

Furthermore, company's projects in the field of e-Health were presented as well. They have made Ericsson Nikola Tesla a recognized company worldwide, which is supported not only by projects in Croatia, but also by great international projects developed by the company's experts.
