The aim of the project is to develop WaterQ solution which will enable integration of different data sources (public health, water supply systems, sensors, open data) and different types of data (laboratory measurements, sensor measurements, meteorological data) which have not been integrated on a single platform so far.

Total project value is HRK 16.4 million and the amount of grants for the implementation is HRK 8.9 million.

Project implementation will take place until the end of August 2023 and is carried out in two research and development phases: Industrial Research and Experimental Development. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund in the framework of the Operational program Competitiveness and cohesion 2014-2020 in the competition: “Increasing the development of new products and services arising from R&D activities (IRI) – Phase II”.

Additional information:

By processing large amounts of data and using predictive analytics and machine learning, the aim is to timely provide the public health system and water supply sector with information that is necessary to make informed decisions. In addition to integration of innovative components, WaterQ solution will contribute to a significant improvement in the process of water quality control by providing interconnected services that currently do not exist on the market as part of a single system.

The project consortium consists of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, as the applicant, and the Croatian Institute for Public Health, Telemetris d.o.o. and Gauss d.o.o. as partners.

Telemetris d.o.o. is a research and development company with considerable experience and expertise in developing sensor and IoT products, which will run activities for developing the making of battery-operated IoT sensor devices for monitoring the quality of water. Gauss d.o.o. specializes in design and development of web and mobile solutions and is responsible for developing a mobile app in the framework of WaterQ solution.

As the leading public health institution in the country and region, Croatian Institute for Public Health provides the consortium with necessary expertise and experience that are required for defining requirements and functionalities of ICT solutions, choosing parameters, creating models of parameter correlation, monitoring, analyzing, and validating solutions developed in the project, interpreting measurement results, in addition to promoting and disseminating project results.
