Active participation at HIMSS23 Europe - interoperability is key

Mario Ravić, Head of IoT & Digital Health at Ericsson Nikola Tesla, participated at HIMSS23 European Health Conference & Exhibition, the largest European conference related to the application of IT in healthcare, held in Lisbon on June 7-9, 2023.

He was one of the panelists at the Telehealth Masterclass which discussed challenges in the future of virtual care. The panel listed the following priorities for the development of virtual care: improvement of user experience for patients, definition of the workplace for doctors in virtual care and connection of virtual care health systems with existing eHealth systems. The importance of interoperability and the HL7 FHIR standard in connecting systems for which there are ready-made solutions such as the company's Electronic Healthcare Exchange (EHE) platform was highlighted.
