Ericsson Nikola Tesla delivers 5G network to Kosovo Telecom

By signing a framework multi-year contract worth EUR 15 million, Kosovo Telecom and Ericsson Nikola Tesla continue their cooperation on the modernization and maintenance of the radio network of this Kosovo operator. The contract includes the introduction of the state-of-the-art Ericsson 5G equipment in the radio part of the Kosovo Telecom network.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kosovo Telecom, Ms. Burbuqe Hana, after an open and successful tendering process, expresses her satisfaction in signing the contract for the complete modernization of the Vala mobile network (400 Base Stations) with the prestigious international company Ericsson Nikola Tesla. 

"This contract marks the culmination of our efforts towards the full modernization of the Vala mobile network, incorporating the highly advanced 5G platform,” she said, adding that “this will provide the customers of Kosovo Telecom with state-of-the-art technology, allowing the citizens of Kosovo to access advanced services, and businesses to have greater opportunities for activity development."

Ms. Hana also announces that the overall network modernization project will be fully implemented by the end of 2024, with full coverage in the Prishtina region expected as early as the summer of this year.
