Effective January 1, 2005 the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla announces the change at the position of the company president.
After having lead Ericsson's local company in Croatia, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, extremely successfully, Åke Enell is leaving the position of the company president. Åke Enell was born in 1944 in Nyköping, Sweden. He started working in the Ericsson Corporation in 1964 where he gained an extensive experience in the area of telecommunications. In the period from 1970 till 1978 he worked in the Ericsson companies in the Netherlands and Mexico in managerial positions. In 1998 he was appointed the president of the company Ericsson Nikola Tesla. He has also been responsible for Ericsson's Market Unit Central Europe. Under Åke Enell's leadership Ericsson Nikola Tesla has continuously demonstrated exceptional performance. During the period of his presidency over the company global telecommunications were affected by dramatic crisis, but Ericsson Nikola Tesla, following Åke Enell's strategic guidelines, operated not only with profit, but it grew, it won new customers and further diversified its portfolio.
Effective January 1, 2005 Gordana Kovačević is appointed as new president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla. Gordana Kovačević is renown both in Croatia and the Ericsson Group as an exceptional leader who was many times awarded for her achievements as successful manager. She received the last in the long line of recognitions recently when the Croatian Association of Managers and Entrepreneurs granted her the title of the Best Croatian manager in 2004 in the category of big companies. Gordana Kovačević's responsibilities reach beyond local scope: she is MU Central Europe vice-president responsible for total communications solutions and as the leader of one of Ericsson's Centers of Excellence for total communications solutions she also has global responsibilities.
With regard to the change at the leading position at Ericsson Nikola Tesla Åke Enell commented:
"Forty years of work in Ericssonu, and especially the past six years in Ericsson Nikola Tesla, enabled me to fill my career with valuable jobs that imply a great deal of responsibility. The position of the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla filled me with pride because I had the opportunity to collaborate with true professionals, dedicated and competent experts in every job we did together. Over that period I worked closely with Gordana Kovačević and I am convinced that with her as the company leader Ericsson Nikola Tesla has a great chance of further growth. Furthermore, Gordana Kovačević comments:
