Traffic and Logistics Data Science Lab opened

At the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Science, University of Zagreb (FPZ), a new joint Traffic and Logistics Data Science Lab was officially opened. Through the Lab Ericsson Nikola Tesla and FPZ will continue their successful long-term cooperation in the field of science and research, development and education. The opening event at the Faculty, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia Davor Božinović, Professor Miljenko Šimpraga, PhD, Vice-rector for Innovations, Technology Transfer and Communications at the Universit of Zagreb, and a team of managers and leading experts in this field from Ericsson Nikola Tesla.
Vodafone goes live with Ericsson 5G technology in London

Ericsson’s (NASDAQ: ERIC) 5G technology leadership was at the heart of Vodafone UK’s launch of 5G for consumer and business customers in London earlier this month. The spectacular cityscape views of London’s Sky Garden hosted a dedicated launch event powered by Ericsson 5G technology, including a virtual demonstration with highlights from the latest Ericsson ConsumerLab Report: 5G Consumer Potential.
Annual General Meeting of Ericsson Nikola Tesla joint-stock company held

The Annual General Meeting of Ericsson Nikola Tesla joint-stock company was held at the Company’s headquarters, Krapinska 45, Zagreb, on Thursday, 13 June 2019. The equity capital represented at the AGM was HRK 89,100,300.00, corresponding to 66.92% of the total Company’s equity. This was sufficient for the AGM to make valid decisions. In the presence of a notary public, the Annual General Meeting was presided by Snježana Bahtijari, AGM Chairperson, appointed by the Supervisory Board of the Company. LM Ericsson, the largest single shareholder, was represented by Mats Olof Andrén. Representatives of the Supervisory Board and numerous investors were present at the AGM.
katastar.hr launched

With the aim to further digitalize its business and make it more transparent, State Geodetic Administration in cooperation with Ericsson Nikola Tesla developed a new katastar.hr portal which provides insight into various spatial information based on a person’s current location. The portal was officially launched on 11 June 2019 in the State Geodetic Administration by the Public Administration Minister Lovro Kuščević, as a representative of the Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

On May 22 in Opatija, Darko Horvat, Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, inaugurated the largest international non-commercial scientific and expert convention on ICT, electronics and microelectronics in this part of Europe – the 42nd MIPRO. The convention is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Ericsson Nikola Tesla actively participates in a comprehensive program which highlights networking and strategy aimed at modern technological determinants and development directions of the EU, focusing on artificial intelligence and smart environments.
Cooperation for the development of experts in transport and logistics

On 15 May 2019, at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, a Partnership Agreement related to a three-year ProLog project was signed. The Agreement was signed by the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Rijeka, University North, Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Orbico. The project aims to develop the higher education standards of the profession, qualification standards and study programs on the basis of the Croatian Qualifications Framework in transport and logistics. The project is based on resources from the European Social Fund, Operational Programme Efficient Human Resources 2014-2020.
Robots are coming

The second international ICT Society Forum, organized by the Institute for European and Globalization Studies in collaboration with the French institute Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Systèmes de Versailles (LISV), was held at Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s location in Osijek. The theme “The Robots are coming. The Influence of Robotization on Economy and Social Changes” gathered participants who are actively engaged in the creation of the digital society in different areas; businessmen and experts, representatives from the academia and public administration.
