Setting up links between the science and economy was in the focus of this year thirteenth business and technological conference Microsoft WinDays that was held in Umag. On the last conference day, at the round table titled “Does Croatia create entrepreneurs and employees for future ? ”, the topic was the competitiveness and education. The participants were MSc Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Ivan Vidaković, director of Microsofta Hrvatska, Prof. DSc Ivan Đikić , from the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Prof. DSc Nedjeljko Perić, the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Prof. DSc Saša Zelenika, Assistant Minister of Science, Education and Sport, as well as Vedran Kružić, Assistant Minister of Economy.
Gordana Kovačević, the president of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, comments: “During Q1 the Ericsson Nikola Tesla continued its successful business performance, focusing on the implementation of the strategic priorities. We continued to focus on efficiency improvement and cost optimization in order to increase the profitability and competitiveness on the market. We achieved a solid sales revenue growth amounting to 35% year-over-year. Sales revenue growth was reported in all market segments.
At the 4 th National Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility, held under the auspice of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Prof Dr Ivo Josipović, on April 25, 2013, in The Regent Esplanade Hotel, the European awards for CSR and Index for Community Social Responsibility were formally awarded.

The Croatian Consortium among the total of nine countries included in the Paneuropean project named HeERO (Harmonised eCall European Pilot) was awarded a special prize for the most successful implementation and testing of e-Call, and Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a technology partner in this important project.
